Abstract
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a disorder which affects all ages, from infancy through adulthood. It typically affects atopic individuals (Table 1) and is a chronic allergic disorder, with foods ubiquitous in the diet being the most described trigger of this isolated eosinophilic inflammation of the esophagus in both adults and children. This inflammatory process leads to esophageal symptoms such as dysphagia and feeding intolerance. In this review, we provide a brief overview of the current state of EoE therapy and symptomatology and then try to make the case for early diagnosis and treatment to prevent some of the long-term consequences of esophageal inflammation.Entities:
