Abstract
Despite the high incidence of hyponatremia, the correct approach to management, particularly in patients with severe hyponatremia (serum sodium of 120 mEq/L or less), is controversial. This article reviews two major consensus guidelines and recent studies that can help clinicians make evidence-based treatment decisions and reduce patient risk for iatrogenic osmotic demyelination from overly aggressive treatment.Entities:
