Abstract
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is frequently underdiagnosed and undertreated. This review identifies specific subgroups within older adults more likely to develop PAD, and describes methods to diagnose PAD and provide evidence in support of systematic referral to cardiac rehabilitation programs to enhance successful comprehensive management. Clear evidence and guidelines support the routine use of supervised exercise therapy to improve function, reduce risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and enhance the success of endovascular interventions.Entities:
