Abstract
BACKGROUND: A randomized trial of unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations (ARUBA) reported superior outcomes in conservative management compared to interventional treatment. There were numerous limitations to the study. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of gamma knife radiosurgery (GKS) for patients with brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) by comparing its outcomes to those of the ARUBA study.Entities:

Fig. 1Flow diagram showing patient selection process. A total of 608 patients with brain AVMs who underwent GKS were identified in the database, and 344 patients were excluded according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally, 264 patients were considered ARUBA-eligible and were included in this study.
