Port-wine stain associated with maternal use of lithium carbonate.

Abstract

A newborn infant with an extensive port-wine stain born to a mother who was taking lithium carbonate in the first trimester of pregnancy is described. The use of lithium carbonate in pregnant or potentially pregnant women is cautioned.
