BACKGROUND: Burkholderia pseudomallei is a Gram negative, soil-water saprophytic bacterium endemic in South-East Asia and Northern Australia. | Day 2 | Transoesophageal echo—multiple vegetations on anterior mitral leaflet. |

| Day 14 | Discharged in stable afebrile state. |
| 4 weeks | On review patient afebrile and asymptomatic. Repeat transthoracic echo showed no vegetation. |
