Figure 2.The radiculogram, observed after injecting the dye, was broadly classified into 4 types as “arm,” “arrow,” “linear,” and “splash.” The “arm” pattern was defined as a thick band of dye around the entire thickness of the nerve root, “arrow” pattern was defined by the flow of the dye around the medial aspect of the nerve root and tracks down around the thecal sac, “linear” pattern denoted as a single streak of dye along the lateral aspect of the nerve root, and the “splash” pattern was defined as an irregular distribution of the dye around the nerve root.
