The original article titled “Impact of genital hygiene and sexual activity on urinary tract infection during pregnancy, published in Urology Annals, on pages 478-481, Issue 4, Volume 7, 2015,[1] has a number of unattributed sections of content with high rate of similarity, with an article titled “Hygiene practices and sexual activity associated with urinary tract infection in pregnant women”, published in Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal, on pages 104-110, Issue 1, Volume 15, 2009.[2] Plagiarism, unethical publication or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of Urology Annals, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.
