Abstract
We present a case of subcutaneous infection caused by Bordetella hinzii in a healthy male. The isolate was successfully identified by gyrB gene sequencing. B. hinzii cannot be distinctively identified using 16S rRNA gene sequencing or by biochemical methods. The number of cases infected with B. hinzii might be underestimated owing to the difficulty in accurate identification, which can be achieved by gyrB gene sequencing to gain knowledge about the species.Entities:
