Abstract
Electroporation is a process in which brief electrical pulses create transient pores in the plasma membrane that allow nucleic acids to enter the cellular cytoplasm. Here, we provide information on the history, mechanism, and optimization of electroporation. We also describe nucleofection, an improvement of the electroporation technology that permits the introduction of nucleic acids directly into the nucleus.Year: 2019 PMID: 31262965 DOI: 10.1101/pdb.top096271
