Abstract
The in vitro activity of ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin against strains of Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex were studied by the standard 1% proportion method. Thirty-eight of 100 strains (30%) were inhibited by ciprofloxacin at 2 micrograms/ml and 11 of 30 strains (37%) were inhibited by ofloxacin at 8 microm/ml. Patients having these more susceptible isolates may potentially benefit from therapy with these agents [corrected].Entities:
