Abstract
BACKGROUND: Microparticles (MPs) are small cell membrane-derived vesicles regarded as both biomarkers and mediators of biological effects. Elevated levels of MPs have previously been associated with endothelial dysfunction and predict cardiovascular death in patients with end-stage renal disease.
