Intraoperative Doppler localization of intestinal arteriovenous malformation.

J A Pinkerton.

Abstract

Arteriovenous malformations of the gastrointestinal tract have been identified as the cause of significant bleeding when other causes are obscure. A method of precise intraoperative localization using Doppler ultrasound technique is presented. The value of this method is shown in the management of an illustrative case of a rare arteriovenous malformation of the duodenum.
