Abstract
Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a widely used technique for the measurement of antigens and antibodies alike. We describe here procedures, indirect ELISA and sandwich ELISA for the detection of 4-hydroxynonenal protein adducts. These adducts are stable compounds formed within cells and bodily fluids under conditions of oxidative stress. They can act as sensitive biomarkers of oxidative stress and are directly linked to disease pathology.Entities:
