Abstract
A funnel-shaped shield of 1 to 2 cm diameter at the mouth of a needle cap is shown to be effective at decreasing the number of accidental misses occurring in a recapping trial. An argument is made for recapping needles and incorporating new needle cap designs in a revision of the CDC guideline on needle disposal.Mesh：
