| 16 | 4 (100) | 11 (100) |
P is nonsignificant with only 50% of case of 8 h and 100% cases at 16 h in leukoplakia and 36.4% at 8 h and 100% at 16 h in OSCC. OSCC: Oral squamous cell carcinoma, n=Number of patient
Total quantitative chlamydospore formation with serum milk and corn milk broth in leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma cases
| Leukoplakia ( | OSCC ( | Total ( | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serum milk | 25 | 90 | 115 |
| Cornmeal broth +5% milk | 181 | 382 | 563 |
| Total | 206 | 472 | 678 |
For both leukoplakia as well as OSCC groups, the number of total chlamydospores formed was higher for cornmeal broth +5% milk as compared to serum milk. For both serum milk as well as cornmeal broth +5% milk media, number of total chlamydospores formed was higher for OSCC as compared to leukoplakia group. OSCC: Oral squamous cell carcinoma

|---|---|---|---|
| Negative growth | 11 (100) | 6 (45.5) | 2 (25) |
| Positive growth | 0 (0) | 5 (54.5) | 6 (75) |
| Total | 11 (100) | 11 (100) | 8 (100) |
| 0.035 | 0.001 | 0.352 | |
χ2=11.8 (df=2); P=0.003. *Fisher’s exact test. Significant P value was seen in the comparison of mild and severe while mild and moderate and moderate and severe show a nonsignificant P value
