Abstract
A 16 year-old female presented with cardiac tamponade due to purulent meningococcal pericarditis without concomitant meningitis or meningococcaemia. She recovered after aspiration of the pericardial effusion and administration of a high dose of benzylpenicillin via a continuous infusion.Entities:
