Abstract
Antimicrobial peptides are a rich source of potential antibiotic candidates. The tridecaptins, a family of linear lipo-tridecapeptides, are easily synthesized and show strong activity against Gram-negative bacteria. However, their composition includes several expensive amino acids, such as d/l diaminobutyric acid and d-allo-isoleucine, significantly increasing their cost of synthesis. Herein, we report a series of new tridecaptin derivatives that are much cheaper to synthesize and retain strong activity against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria.Entities:
