Abstract
A 69-yr-old man on chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis presented with Escherichia coli peritonitis 36 h after left-sided colonoscopy. No evidence for colonic perforation was found and the infection cleared with intravenous and intraperitoneal antibiotics. This case supports the need for further studies evaluating the use of prophylactic antibiotics during colonoscopy of chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients with diverticula.Entities:
