Abstract
Background: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for ischemic stroke can be performed under local anesthesia (LA), conscious sedation (CS), or general anesthesia (GA). The need for monitoring by anesthesia providers may be resource intensive. We sought to determine differences in outcomes of MT when sedation is performed by an anesthesia team compared to sedation-trained providers.Entities:

Figure 1Mean systolic blood pressures during mechanical thrombectomy. Patients in the sedation-trained provider group are represented in black, and patients in the anesthesia team group are represented in red. SBP0 represents systolic blood pressure on arrival to the interventional lab. SBP1-3 are measurements taken prior to revascularization, while SBP4-6 are measurements taken after revascularization.
