BACKGROUND: Homeless individuals suffer and die disproportionately from chronic diseases and disorders. We describe the epidemiology of cancer among homeless persons in metropolitan Detroit.Entities:

Other cause of death classifications include endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases and immunity disorders; mental disorders; diseases of the nervous system and sense organs; diseases of the genitourinary system; diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue; certain conditions originating in the perinatal period; and external causes of death.
Unknown cause of death includes cases for which no death certificate was available, or a death certificate was available but the underlying cause was not coded.
Follow-up current within 22 months of July 2016.
