Abstract
BACKGROUND: Breastfeeding is a public health priority and lack of breastfeeding support a contributing factor to the low initiation and continuation rates in the UK. Online social support groups are being increasingly utilised by breastfeeding mothers and research into this phenomenon is only now emerging. The nature of online support implies a lack of tangible assistance due to a lack of geographical boundaries however some posts directed at the admin team are seen. i.e. “Hi, please can an admin add me to the off topic group please?
