Clinical and blood sample information of participants
Mean±standard deviation.
*p<0.05 is significant on t-test or chi-square test.
AD: Alzheimer's disease, APOE: apolipoprotein E, CDR: clinical dementia rating, CDR-SOB: CDR-sum of box, CON: control, F: female, M: male, MMSE: Mini-Mental State Examination.
Plasma beta amyloid protein level, albumin level and its ratio
Mean±standard deviation. t-test was used for group comparison.
*p<0.05, †CSF (mg/dL)/plasma albumin levels (g/dL).
AD: Alzheimer's disease, CON: control, CSF: cerebrospinal fluid.
Level of CSF biomarkers
Mean±standard deviation. Log-transformed values of CSF AD biomarkers were used for statistical analysis, but the raw values were presented for easy understanding. CSF albumin was compared by non-parametric analysis. For the others t-test was used.
*p<0.05.
AD: Alzheimer's disease, CON: control, CSF: cerebrospinal fluid.
Anaylses of correlation between CSF biomarker and plasma beta amyloid
r: Pearson's correlation between plasma levels of Aβ and log-transformed CSF levels of AD biomarkers.
*p<0.05 in significant on Pearson's correlation analysis.
AD: Alzheimer's disease, CON: control, CSF: cerebrospinal fluid.
Fig. 1Correlation between CSF Aβ42 and plasma Aβ40, Aβ42. A and B: Correlation between CSF Aβ42 and plasma beta amyloid in all participants (A-Aβ40, B-Aβ42). C and D: Correlation between CSF Aβ42 and plasma beta amyloid (C-Aβ40, D-Aβ42). E and F: Correlation between CSFAβ42 and plasma beta amyloid (E-Aβ40, F-Aβ42). AD: Alzheimer's disease, CON: control, CSF: cerebrospinal fluid.
