Diamine oxidase activity in Japanese quail liver induced with aroclor 1254.

G Ignesti, M Perretti, F Buffoni.

Abstract

Male adult quails were treated with a single intraperitoneal dose of Aroclor 1254 mg/kg. The animals showed increases in hepatic weight and benzopyrene hydroxylase activity which were continuous up to 168 h after the treatment. At 96 h after treatment the activity of diamine oxidase (DAO) in the microsomal fraction was significantly decreased whereas that of spermidine synthase seemed to increase.
