Abstract
At the Duke University School of Nursing, accelerated BSN students participate in a free Doulas of North America birth doula training to learn support of prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum women and their families. They learn to participate as team members providing continuous physical and emotional support to women in the perinatal period and to appreciate how hormones support physiologic labor and birth. This training complements classroom information and clinical experiences.Entities:
