Abstract
We report a case of missed diagnosis of maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 5 uncovered during pregnancy with a previous diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. Maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 5 cannot be excluded in early-onset diabetes with positive islet-related autoantibodies and type 1 diabetes-prone human leukocyte antigen subtypes. Abdominal ultrasound should be used in all patients with pre-gestational diabetes, and maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 5 should be considered when renal abnormality is presented.Entities:
