Abstract
Nurses represent the largest group of health care professionals working with incarcerated persons. Using a self-administered online questionnaire, this study surveyed a group of provincial correctional nurses to gain insight into their roles, responsibilities, and learning needs in relation to this complex area of practice. Specific aims included describing who they are, what they do, what they need, and what factors influence their practice. A total of 33 responses were received and analyzed, representing a response rate of 34.7%. Many areas of need were identified by the respondents related to their roles and practice. These findings will provide a foundation for continuing education, practice, and future research.Entities:
