Abstract
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has revolutionized the field of surgery, and is currently the gold standard in the treatment for symptomatic cholelithiasis. The goal of every laparoscopic cholecystectomy should be attainment of the critical view of safety before cutting the cystic duct and artery to reduce the risk of bile duct injury. Open cholecystectomy is most commonly performed when laparoscopic cholecystectomy is converted to open or when laparoscopic cholecystectomy is contraindicated. Robotic cholecystectomy is a safe alternative to conventional laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and follows the same basic operative principles.Entities:
