Abstract
Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is the most common cause of chronic pain in the orofacial region. With prevalence in the general population reported at 10% to 15%, patients will regularly present to general dental practitioners (GDPs) with symptoms relating to TMD. despite its relative commonality, TMD continues to pose both a diagnostic and management challenge for the general dental practitioner. This article aims to guide clinicians with regards to clinical examination, diagnosis and biopsychosocial management of TMD within primary care.Entities:
