Abstract
The application of the sphincteroplasty in the treatment of juxtapapillary diverticulum is presented. The relative simplicity of the procedure compared with excision or diversions, or both, may allow more aggressive treatment of such diverticula in borderline situations. In addition, this approach raises the possibility that the sphincteroplasty might be accomplished endoscopically in situations in which the gallbladder has been removed and biliary tract symptoms persist.Mesh:
