Abstract
The colonic absorptio n of a series of aliphatic carbamates has been studied using an in situ preparation in the rat. The absorption process appeared to be passive and no metabolism by the colon membrane was detected. A linear correlation between the logarithms of the absorption rate constants and apparent partition coefficients was found. The absorption rates were not affected by concurrent water flux.Entities:
