Abstract
AIMS: Female patients often seek physical therapy (PT) for chronic low back pain (CLBP). This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of pelvic floor disorder (PFD) and the association between PFD and neuropathic pain (NP) in a population of women referred to PT for CLBP, as these parameters are rarely investigated in this context.Entities:

Figure 1Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20* overall and subscale scores of women referred to physical therapy for chronic low back pain (n = 225). Data are derived from the scores in Supporting Table 4 after transformation to a 100-point scale
Figure 2Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 overall and subscale scores according to the presence or absence of neuropathic pain among women referred to physical therapy for chronic low back pain (n = 225). Data are derived from the scores shown in Supporting Table 4 after transformation to a 100-point scale. P values were calculated using the Mann–Whitney nonparametric test. As indicated, patients with neuropathic pain had significantly higher mean distress scores, compared to those without neuropathic pain

Figure 3Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 overall scores according to the presence or absence of neuropathic pain among women referred to physical therapy for chronic low back pain (n = 225). The analysis was adjusted for the demographic and clinical characteristics listed in Table 2. As indicated, the higher incidence of pelvic floor distress among patients with neuropathic pain was not affected by demographic or clinical characteristics
