Abstract
Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. Annually, 790,000 Americans will experience a myocardial infarction. Early recognition and appropriate management of myocardial infarction are imperative to improving patient outcomes. This article discusses the pathophysiology, presentation, and diagnosis and management of both ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-STEMI.Entities:
