Abstract
BACKGROUND: The problem of population aging is a critical public health concern in modern China, and more tuberculosis (TB) control efforts are needed to reach elderly people at high priority. | HIV/AIDS | Registered in local CDC database, whom were diagnosed according to diagnostic criteria for HIV/AIDS published by National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China in 2008. |
| Known Diabetes | Recorded on the Citizen Health Management Files as diagnosed with Diabetes (fasting plasma glucose level ≥ 7.0 mmol/L, or 2-h plasma glucose level ≥ 11.1 mmol/L), plus those using medicine to control blood glucose by self-report. |
| Close Contacts | Living with new active PTB case for at least 7 days in the 3 months before diagnosis. |
| Underweight | BMI < 18.5, i.e. Weight (kg)/Height × 2 (m) < 18.5. |
| Tobacco use | Ever smoked tobacco by self-report. |
| Drinking history | Drinking more than one unit (21 g pure alcohol) per week by self-report. |
| Chronic bronchitis | Chronic bronchitis history by self-report. |
