Abstract
In this issue of Developmental Cell, Anbalagan et al. demonstrate that pituicytes, a subtype of astroglia, drive endothelial cell permeability in the zebrafish embryo neurohypophysis. This occurs via secretion of Vegfa/Tgfβ3 permeability factors that promote formation of fenestrae and the repression of anti-inflammatory retinoic acid signaling that induces tight cell junctions.Entities:
