Abstract
BACKGROUND: The increased prevalence of carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative isolates caused by Metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) is worrisome in clinical settings worldwide. The mortality rate associated with infections caused by MBLs producing organisms ranging from 18 to 67%.
