Abstract
BACKGROUND: Identification of the proteins that are associated with estrogen receptor (ER) status is a first step in selecting drugs against hormone-dependent breast cancer. Recently, the proteins associated with ER status were reported using liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry, and microRNA (miRNA) profiling of breast cancer subtype was demonstrated using real-time-PCR.Entities:

Figure 1Venn diagram of identified proteins from ER-positive and -negative breast cancer tissues.
Notes: A total of 123 proteins were identified in ER-positive and 177 in ER-negative tumors. About 98 proteins were common to both ER-positive and -negative tumors. The total number of identified proteins was 202.
Abbreviation: ER, estrogen receptor.
