Abstract
Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is a treatment modality that combines low-dose chemotherapy with electroporation, thereby enhancing cytotoxicity. ECT was first utilized in the treatment of metastatic head and neck cancer. Today it is used as a local treatment for the cutaneous and subcutaneous metastases of a variety of cancers, including melanoma. In addition, recent evidence indicates that ECT in combination with immunotherapy can lead to a systemic tumor response. This review aims to summarize the efficacy of ECT in the treatment of metastatic melanoma, with a specific focus on the combination of ECT with immunotherapy.Entities:
