Abstract
Advances in the management of genitourinary neoplasms have resulted in a trend towards providing patients with personalized care. Texture analysis of medical images, is one of the tools that is being explored to provide information such as detection and characterization of tumors, determining their aggressiveness including grade and metastatic potential and for prediction of survival rates and risk of recurrence. In this article we review the basic principles of texture analysis and then detail its current role in imaging of individual neoplasms of the genitourinary system.Entities:
