The number of stools passing/week was divided into two groups by the median value of 7. Perception of constipation and abdominal pain were rated on a scale of 0–3 for each day and summarized to a total number in the range of 0–18, divided into two groups by the median value. Values are presented as crude odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Adjusted OR are adjusted for sex and smoking.
P < 0.05 is considered statistically significant.
