Abstract
The CT images in 4 patients with bilateral carotid body tumours are reported. These CT findings seem to be typical, consisting of a well-circumscribed and strongly contrast-enhancing mass, situated at the bifurcation of the common carotid artery, displacing the adjacent structures. Computed tomography proves to be an excellent and non-invasive diagnostic examination. Angiography is necessary only if embolisation prior to surgery is requested.Entities:
