Abstract
Impaired driving is a major cause of motor vehicle accidents, injury, and fatality. Several classes of medication have been found to affect a driver's cognition, judgment, and reaction time and may put patients at increased risk for accidents and injury. This article will explore medications with side effects posing a potential threat to drivers, including anxiolytics, sedative hypnotics, antihistamines, and antidepressants, as well as describe potential strategies for mitigating or minimizing such risks.Entities:
