Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The prevalence of food insecurity and chronic health conditions among older adults is a public health concern. However, little is known about associated health care costs. We estimated the incremental health care costs of food insecurity and selected chronic health conditions among older adults, defined as adults aged 50 or older.Entities:

Abbreviation: MEPS, Medical Expenditure Panel Survey; NHIS, National Health Interview Survey; SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
All comparisons are based on unweighted data.
P values are based on χ square test.
Values do not total 100% because of comorbidity (ie, a respondent may have more than one chronic condition).
