Abstract
The first case of Shigella-associated acalculous cholecystitis is described. A 27-year-old woman presented to hospital with diarrhoea and acute acalculous cholecystitis one day after return to Australia from Vietnam. Her feces culture grew multi-drug resistant ESBL-producing Shigella sonnei and she improved with antimicrobial therapy and intravenous fluids.Entities:
