The original article titled “Evaluation of a modified POSSUM scoring system for predicting the morbidity in patients undergoing lumbar surgery” published in Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, as ‘Ahead of Print Publication’, in 2014,[1] is being retracted as the author of this article had requested to withdraw from Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, and through an administrative error it was published as ‘Ahead of Print Publication'. This article has since been published in Indian Journal of Surgery, on pages 212-216, Volume 76, Issue 3, 2014; it has to be retracted.[2] Plagiarism or unethical publication violates the editorial policy of Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.This article has been retracted on request of authors, editors and editorial board.Editor:Indian Journal of Orthopaedics
