Augmentation of the articular tubercle in treatment of chronic recurrent temporomandibular joint luxations. A preliminary case report.

Abstract

Chronic recurrent luxation of the temporomandibular joint requires surgical intervention in certain cases. Following a review of the literature the authors describe their own method for augmentation of the articular tubercle by implantation of hydroxyapatite. A case report shows a good result after 9 months.
