Abstract
Out of a sample of 2,470 smears screened in order to identify of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 67 (2.712%) smears were selected. 39 (58.21%) of these showed evidence of human papilloma virus infection (HPV), 28 (41.79%) showed changes which suggested chlamydial infections (Ct). Results were verified by means of direct immunofluorescence tests (IF) and confronted with colposcopic and cytologic findings. The cytologic findings suggest a possible association between HPV and Ct infections with the incidence of the cervical neoplasia.Entities:
