Abstract
There have been many advances in the treatment of heart failure over the past several years. While these advancements have resulted in improved outcomes in adults with heart failure, these same treatments do not seem to be as efficacious in children with heart failure. Investigations of the failing pediatric heart suggest that there are unique phenotypic, pathologic and molecular differences that could influence how children with heart failure response to adult-based therapies. In this review, several recent studies and the potential implications of their findings on informing the future of the management of pediatric heart failure are discussed.Entities:
