Abstract
Morbidity and mortality conferences (M & M) have become increasingly more important in Germany in recent years as an important risk management tool; however, in addition to risk identification M & M should also promote individual and organizational learning, a modern error culture and the optimization of treatment processes in terms of patient safety. In order to successfully implement this format in times of limited personnel and time resources, a structured approach is required. Equally essential is the integration into a clinic-wide overall concept with central structures. This article provides recommendations for the structured implementation of M & M conferences based on experience in a large university hospital.Entities:
