Abstract
Gastric cancer in pregnancy is an extremely rare entity. The incidence of gastric cancer is more in elderly patients and higher in the male population. Gastric cancer symptoms can be nausea, vomiting and epigastric discomfort which is similar to early pregnancy symptoms. This leads to a misinterpretation and delay in the diagnosis during pregnancy. Gastric cancer in pregnancy is associated with poor prognosis because of its delayed diagnosis at an advance stage. We present our patient here, with this rare clinical diagnosis and with no suspicion in a young healthy woman. © BMJ Publishing Group Ltd (unless otherwise stated in the text of the article) 2018.
