Pregnancy and gastric cancer: diagnostic and treatment dilemma.

Gastric cancer in pregnancy is an extremely rare entity. The incidence of gastric cancer is more in elderly patients and higher in the male population. Gastric cancer symptoms can be nausea, vomiting and epigastric discomfort which is similar to early pregnancy symptoms. This leads to a misinterpretation and delay in the diagnosis during pregnancy. Gastric cancer in pregnancy is associated with poor prognosis because of its delayed diagnosis at an advance stage.
